Toyota and their region distributor, Gulf States Toyota, unveiled a limited edition package for the 2016 Toyota 4Runner 4×4 off-road SUV at the Dallas Auto Show this week.
The Special Edition 4Runner TForce is a limited edition package that can be ordered on theToyota 4Runner SR5 4×4 to make it a more formidable looking off-roader. The TForce Special Edition will be available in three colors – Midnight Black Metallic, Super White and Barcelona Red Metallic.
The TForce package upgrades the basic SR5 4×4 with custom-built heavy duty rock rails that include front and rear removable steps. Easily removable, these steps make the rock rail fully functional for the true off-road enthusiast. A lightweight aluminum roof rack with milled front and rear ‘TForce’, has multiple mounting locations for adding additional adventure accessories like LED lights, GoPro camera mounting or just use for tie downs to keep your outdoor gear secure.
A front skid plate with the ‘TForce’ milled adds to the off-road capability while painted pocketed fender flares enhance the already aggressive off-road look. Inside the vehicle, front and rear all-weather mats protect carpets from those messy outdoor adventures, as well as, a rear all-weather cargo mat for entire rear cargo area coverage.
The adventure is always where the ‘rubber meets the road’ so to get you where you want to go, Toyota has equipped the TForce with 17” matte black wheels with embossed TForce logoed center caps and mounted them with Nitto Terra Grappler G2 All-Terraintires. The Grappler G2 is the next generation of all-terrain light truck tire specifically designed by Nitto to meet your everyday on and off-road adventures.
Completing the package are the bold black exterior badges replacing the chrome with unique TForce badging located on front fenders and rear tailgate.
For those wanting a bit more ‘luxury’ combined with the tough look of the TForce, the special edition package is also available on the 4Runner Premium 4×4, for the same $4,995 (MSRP) package price. The 4Runner Premium comes standard with SofTex heated front seats, Entune Premium Audio with Navigation and App Suite, power moon roof with sunshade and heated outside mirrors with turn signal indicators.
The Super White 2016 4Runner TForce on display at the Dallas Auto Show was built on the SR5 and, as built, had a sticker price of $43,574 that included destination, prep and delivery.
In either model, these TForce Special Edition 4Runners will go fast. Toyota said there will be only a small number of these units built and, they will only be available through dealers in the Gulf States Region which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
